When preparing for a newborn, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of products out there. However, there are a few essential items that make the first few months of parenting much easier. Here are our 10 most important products for newborn babies.

1. Diapers and Wipes

Newborns go through a lot of diapers, so having a reliable brand is essential. Don’t forget baby wipes, which are gentle on their delicate skin and perfect for quick clean-ups. Whether you go for disposable or cloth diapers, having a good supply is key.

A safe and comfortable infant car seat is non-negotiable. It’s crucial for your baby’s safety during car rides, and many models can be used for the first year or two.

3. Crib or Bassinet

A safe, comfortable place for your baby to sleep is essential. Newborns often sleep for long stretches, so a crib or bassinet with a firm mattress and breathable materials is important for safe sleep. Consider a bassinet for the first few months, as it allows your baby to sleep close to you.

In the end, it all comes down to personal preference. At home, we use a sturdy and wooden bed for our newborn, but when it comes to travelling, light and easy to handle is important.

4. Swaddle Blankets

Swaddling helps soothe newborns by mimicking the comforting feeling of being in the womb. Swaddle blankets are soft and breathable, keeping babies snug without overheating. They can also help with sleep by preventing the startle reflex.

5. Baby Bottles

Even if you plan to breastfeed, it’s a good idea to have a few bottles on hand. Some babies need a bottle if they’re having trouble latching, and it allows others to feed the baby as well. Choose bottles that are designed to reduce colic and gas.

6. Breast Pump

I really cannot recommend a specific product here, there is just an endless supply of baby clothing.

A diaper bag helps you keep all your baby essentials organized when you're on the go. Make sure it’s spacious enough to carry diapers, wipes, extra clothes, snacks, and bottles, with several compartments for easy access to everything you need.

Anything works here really, i just use a normal backpack because i need the extra space.

10. Baby Bathtub

A baby bathtub makes bath time easier and safer for both parents and babies. Many models come with an ergonomic design that supports your baby’s head and body while they’re in the water. Some even come with temperature indicators to ensure the water is at a safe temperature.
